A GUIDE FOR 3D PRINTING YOUR OWN DESK MOUNTS

Have you thought about making your own 3D printed mounts for the different devices on your desk? For content creators, we know how easy it is for the mountain of peripherals on your desk to add up and take up precious desk real estate. Perhaps you’d like to create a mount to fit your BEACN Mix Create and Elgato Stream Deck right next to each other to control your audio alongside your multi-action shortcuts and hotkeys. Or maybe you want to create your own 3D printed collapsible tray to perfectly hold your BEACN Studio, so you don’t need to keep it right on your desk.

Whatever you plan to do, we want to do our part to help make creating those things a little bit easier. That’s why we’re releasing custom STEP & STL files for our products for our fellow 3D Printing Enthusiasts out there. No more guessing the dimensions or having to measure your own products to start working on a new design in your software of choice.

TIPS & TRICKS FROM A BEACN AMBASSADOR

Need help getting started on your 3D Printing journey? Meet BEACN Ambassador CyberJoules, a tech-based variety streamer with a main focus creating content in the Makers and Crafting Twitch Category. Jules made some incredible designs using these 3D Models to customize her own BEACN products and add some personality to her stream set up! If you missed her livestream unveiling the designs and giving her own insights, we've got you covered with some highlights down below. (Plus, if you're feeling FOMO - you can catch the full VOD Here 😊)

To enhance her BEACN Mix Create DIY style, Jules created an enclosure to add a spot to store extra USB sticks or SD cards. Digital calipers came in clutch for grabbing the measurements of the USB sticks and SD card slots!

It was important for Jules to leave the backside of the enclosure open to ensure all cables could be routed effectively!

Once the full design was finalized, Jules tested out the design to ensure all of the measurements lined up and catch anything out of place. You couldn't even hear the sounds of the printers going off in the background during the stream, thanks to BEACN Mic's renowned noise suppression.

“3D design is hard but fun and rewarding. I’m no expert but YouTube has been my best friend and I encourage people to try to design something on their own. FreeCAD or TinkerCAD are free software tools and there are tons of resources out there to get you started.”

Want to print Jules' mount for your own set up? You can download the design for this mount from Jules' Makerworld page Here. If you love the design but don't have a 3D Printer, you're in luck! Jules offers a service on her website to print and ship it over to you directly. Learn more about that Here!
